As a port operator, ICTSI Oregon’s vision is to create value by fostering deep relationships with local businesses, farmers and the import and export community throughout the Columbia River region and Western states. Terminal 6 is the only international shipping container terminal in Oregon and on the Columbia River. Our goal is to efficiently move cargo and grow the local and regional economy.
As we continue to pursue optimized efficiency and an increasingly seamless integration of transport and distribution systems, our direct clients –and those they represent and serve –gain a competitive advantage.
Anchored in the Pacific Northwest, we strive to provide superior services marked by efficiency, reliability, professionalism and profitability on a daily basis. These efforts support our inherent commitment to provide excellent growth opportunities for our employees; to build successful, mutually rewarding businesses with our partners; to meet (and even surpass) our contractual obligations.
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) is in the business of acquiring, developing, managing and operating container ports and terminals worldwide.
Established in December 1987 in the Philippines, ICTSI has become a leading operator, innovator and pioneer in its field. After consolidating and strengthening its base and flagship operations at the Manila International Container Terminal in the Philippines, the company realized the potential for independent international terminal operators, and launched an international and domestic expansion program in 1994.
On May 12, 2010, ICTSI Oregon, Inc., a subsidiary of ICTSI, signed a 25-year concession lease agreement with the Port of Portland for the operation of the container terminal and break-bulk facility at Terminal 6. The agreement is considered the largest financial transaction in the history of the city’s maritime port, and is ICTSI’s first venture in the U.S. ICTSI Oregon, Inc. provides premier shipping and cargo handling service to the local, regional and international markets as a gateway to Portland, Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
ICTSI Oregon, Inc. is part of a network of 29 West Coast ports that provide an economic gateway of regional, national and international trade that accounts for 10 to15 percent of the United States’ annual gross domestic product, 25 percent of our nation’s international trade and $1 trillion in economic activity. Combined, these ports handle roughly 65 percent of all U.S. container imports.
ICTSI has a track record that confirms its ability to rapidly adapt to different operating environments and to add value to its operated terminals by enhancing efficiency at every level. It also has the proven ability to perform beyond the expectations of central and regional governments of a privatization process, spanning both developed and emerging economies.
